Das hat nun gar nichts mit Kunst zu tun, aber es macht mich so wütend, dass ich etwas dazu schreiben muss. Dieser Artikel, besonders die zitierten Aussagen des Richters darin, haben mir nicht nur diesen Tag versaut!

Dieses abzusehende Urteil im letzten Haditha-Prozess lässt mich den Glauben an die Demokratie verlieren. Alle Werte, wie Anstand, Rechtsstaatlichkeit, die bisher mein Leben bestimmt haben, die ich verteidigt habe gegen immer mehr Menschen, die mir sagen, Demokratie ist nur ein Instrument des Kapitalismus. Ich bin aufgewachsen mit „Besatzern“, die mir und meiner Generation glaubwürdig erklärt haben, dass es nach dem Hitlerfaschismus nur eine Demokratie geben kann, als politische Manifestation von Humanismus, Anstand und Moral. Es sind alles leere Phrasen! Wenn Amerikaner Opfer sind, leiden, gehen dafür andere Jahrzehnte ins Gefängnis, werden ohne Anklage, ohne Prozesses festgehalten, gewaterboardet, hingerichtet. Wenn aber Amerikaner morden, Kriegsverbrechen begehen, werden sie geschützt. Vom Militär, von der Regierung, von der Justiz. Das ist keine Rechtsstaatlichkeit und keine Demokratie. Das ist Verrat an allen Werten der Demokratie. An allem, was ich als Berliner von „Big Brother“ gelernt habe.
Das ist kein “just Cause”, das ist ein Staat, der mitmordet, der mit Kriegsverbrechen begeht. Es ist ein Staat, der jede moralische Rechtfertigung für seinen Krieg verloren hat! Einen Krieg, von dem mittlerweile alle wissen, dass er für die Öllobby hinter Bush, Rice und Cheney geführt wurde. Ich denke, auch um die Gefahren und Konsequenzen wissend, die eine Störung des Gleichgewicht des Schreckens zum Iran bedeutete. Mit diesem Urteil begeben sich die USA moralisch auf die gleiche Stufe wie islamische Terroristen. Es wird in den Geschichtsbüchern eines Tages direkt neben dem Massaker von My Lai stehen. Wenn der nächste Nahost-Krieg ausbricht – und das wird leider nicht mehr lange hin sein – wird dieses Urteil die Rechtfertigung dafür sein, das viele weitere Köpfe von Amerikaner abgeschnitten werden.
Und Europäern mit.

But when Americans commit war crimes and murder, they are protected. By the military, by the government and by the judiciary. This is no rule of law and no democracy. This is not a just cause, this is a State, that takes part in commiting war crimes and murder. It is a state that has lost any moral justification for his war! As we all know now, this war was waged for the oil lobby behind Bush, Rice and Cheney. I think, they did it knowing about the dangers and consequences of disrupting the balance of terror with Iran. With this ruling, the U.S. go to the same moral level as Islamic terrorists. It will stand in the history books one day next to the massacre at My Lai. If the next war emerges in the middle east and I’m afraid this is not far from now, this judgement will be the justification for a lot more cut off heads of Americans. As well Europeans.
